Cannot Get Started

I just can’t get started on any of the myriad of projects I need to be working on… I blame the oppressive heat but I’m really making excuses for being lazy and slightly uninspired. I have a whole slew of stuff that I want to release but every time I log in to start getting the ad pictures together I flake and log out. I just don’t know. At any rate, the skin I’m wearing will probably be a gift to my group… at least that’s the plan should I find myself able to make an effort. Yes, I think I’ll keep blaming it on the weather. I really hate summer.

Here are a few more screenshots from the Beta. And I have one thing to say… roll a Death Knight. Srsly, roll a Death Knight. If nothing else, roll one just to do the start quests, they are so amazing. I’m not much into the RP thing but those quests really suck you into the world, it’s unbelievable. Just when I was about to say eff it and forget about going to the hair fair forever, I finally got into the sim.  Overall, it wasn’t terrible.. yeah, I saw your typical blinged out gray blobs but maybe because I was wearing untextured everything I pretty much zipped around unhindered… the lag actually wasn’t too bad since I was flying around.. but stuff did take forever and a day to load. So anyways… the Ioehinyd Queen Hair from Curious Kitties was the biggest reason I braved the fair.  As soon as I saw it, a lemming was born and yes, it was totally worth going just for it alone.

I think Succubus was kinda my theme for these pictures… and yeah, I lifted from my Wits or a Dagger thing from a while back, it’s the same skin I used there too. Ah well, not everything can be fresh and new. :P The last picture at the bottom is an unfiltered version so you can actually see the hair clearly. :)

So I saw Achariya‘s Hair Fair challenge to look cool sans attachments. I figured this was no time to play princess… so here’s the “cool” look I put together. Ok, maybe creepy might be a better term, whatever, I think it’s cool. :P Below that picture is my significantly less cool but far less taxing avatar. Sadly, I’m all lag free and I STILL can’t get into the hair fair. Boo.

Reflections

I always wait until the last minute to enter contests… I don’t really know why. Here are my entries for the Quintessence Contest on Koinup which ends tonight. I think “Reflection” is one of the quintessential things about Second Life to me… no matter how I dress my avatar up, she’s always a reflection of me. No post processing on these photos save the border and sig.

I was listening to “Are you Swimming in Her Pools?” by Swan Lake.  But it really doesn’t have anything to do with the pictures. :P

Yeah another LoTD post… what can I say, I don’t always have something to share besides a few slurls. :P

Some quick fashion notes… Truth is still having a sale but probably not for much longer and it’s absolutely worth visiting because hair packs are only L$ 50 which is such a dirt cheap price for hair. And the dress is free at Big Booty Big Money right now, also worth grabbing. And the jewelry by Tekeli-li is really fantastic.. I’ve shown off the weaponry before but I have to say the jewelry is of the same fantastic quality, and the best part, it’s scripted to color change and has a ton of options making it super customizable.

Black Dra Goth by Mamesando

In the Swords v2 post I did a bit back I used the White Dra Goth outfit from Mamesando that I picked up from the Winter Creator’s Stamp Rally. Well I couldn’t resist grabbing the Black Dra Goth version that Mamesando was offering up as a gift for the Summer CSR. The entire outfit from the hair, skin, shape, eyes, etc are all included and I used it all. This version comes with a really amazing scripted sword with fantastic animations. Obviously pictures can’t do it justice so I attempted a little video to show it off. I’ve never used Sony Vegas before to edit a video so you’ll have to excuse the cheesetasticness and icky quality of it. I still am not sure how to save it as an .avi file without the size being too large for Flickr to allow so I had to save it as a .wmv which made it kinda choppy. But all that said, yay for Fraps finally working again for me! No more 4 FPS nonsense, woot!

NC/M/T Rant

Oops, I think I deleted this post from earlier. No idea how that happened.

First off I’ll say I do love the mini dress outfit from Ce Cubic Effect.. I’m only wearing the top bit in the pictures in the post below but the whole little mini dress thing is super cute. And I also purchased this item with the full knowledge that the perms were NC/M/T, basically No Copy. That being said… I hate no copy items that have a lot of primmy/sculptie bits that are hard to fit. Luckily the stuff fit fairly well straight out of the box so I didn’t need to edit it much. I didn’t edit the arm bit for Ruth below and you can tell it’s just not fitting right, but I didn’t want to fuss with it in the off chance I screwed it up royally. But I really mod a lot of the stuff I use depending on the pose I’m using at the time and I just don’t trust my editing skills all that much. You should see some of the monstrosities I’ve made with hair that I’ve modified. And that’s why I love mod/copy. Maybe it’s because I don’t often buy things for others so I never look for the trans perm on anything. So yeah, moral of the rant, I pretty much avoid No Copy items like the plague. I’ve often passed up really nice stuff because it’s No Copy. I just couldn’t resist the pull of this dress though. But I did cringe a little bit when I bought it.
