It’s no secret Bare Rose is one of my top favorite stores in SL…. just a trip through my Flickr feed proves I’m addicted. I can safely say no one does fantasy better and it’s always my first stop whenever I’m jonesing for something awesome. Combined with ridiculously low prices and you’ve got epic win. I don’t even think twice whenever I pop in and something catches my fancy like I would if I was just about anywhere else. So when I saw Winter Jefferson’s post calling for a Bare Rose Appreciation week I just had to make a Bare Rose fan girly post. I’m going to start with this post looking back on some of my favorite Bare Rose outfits ever and tomorrow I’ll post something new! I’m mourning the loss of my Retribution Paladin to the the mighty Blizzard nerf bat. /cry I haven’t really loved the Paladin class much at all in the past but I resolved to get her to 70 and it was an uphill battle the whole way. I was Ret for a good bit of the time I was leveling before speccing Protection which made me a decent tank in a pinch. I actually like Pally tanks quite a bit as a healer because I can bubble them. But because my other toons received far more love from me my Pally has never had the best gear so I typically would tank with my Druid. Anyways, long story short, I was just pwning face with my Paladin after I specced Ret again and it was so fun to actually do some serious DPS, even if I was only in a smattering of blues mixed with a few welfare epics. So I am in a deep melancholy over these nerfs. I knew they were coming, but omfg, the nerf to Divine Storm, give me a break!! This is going to make leveling to 80 an absolute pain. I am a sad panda today.
So as a farewell to my dead Paladin.. I made my version of a Paladin in SL. Just in an effort to keep this QQ post somewhat SL related.. and it gave me an excuse to wear this badass outfit from BareRose and awesome horns from Illusions. Yeah, I know, I don’t look like any Paladin in WoW but this is what I wish my Paladin looked like. :P I hope the outfit from BareRose comes out in more colors, it just might be my favorite outfit from there. Oh, I also want to mention the sword, it’s from Tekeli-li which, imho, makes the absolute best weaponry in SL. They are unscripted but I’m not doing epic battle so that’s fine by me. And the prices are absolutely insanely low, especially for the incredible detail, color change options and beauty that you receive. I should also mention that their customer service is top notch. I recently purchased a halbard from OnRez and Tekelili sent me a message letting me know the items were for sale in the shop and promptly refunded me the difference! That is just too cool and so above and beyond the call of duty. :D

I’d venture to say everyday in SL is a bit like Halloween for me.. I throw on a new costume pretty much every time I log in. :D But Halloween gave me an excuse to make some dark and creepy skins and I know, self pimpage is so tacky, but I <3 the way they turned out so there. And yes, I’m especially fond of these particular poses from Imperial Elegance because they suit my ideas so well.. if you couldn’t tell from the way I only used a few different poses. :P I also couldn’t decide between with or without the blindfold so I did both.

Just when I was about to say eff it and forget about going to the hair fair forever, I finally got into the sim. Overall, it wasn’t terrible.. yeah, I saw your typical blinged out gray blobs but maybe because I was wearing untextured everything I pretty much zipped around unhindered… the lag actually wasn’t too bad since I was flying around.. but stuff did take forever and a day to load. So anyways… the Ioehinyd Queen Hair from Curious Kitties was the biggest reason I braved the fair. As soon as I saw it, a lemming was born and yes, it was totally worth going just for it alone.
I think Succubus was kinda my theme for these pictures… and yeah, I lifted from my Wits or a Dagger thing from a while back, it’s the same skin I used there too. Ah well, not everything can be fresh and new. :P The last picture at the bottom is an unfiltered version so you can actually see the hair clearly. :)

I have been so excited for Sai Pennell‘s Katana poses ever since she first mentioned them and they are awesome!!! <333 I really love these, I keep making excuses to wear my swords everywhere so I can strike a pose when the mood hits me. Whenever I’ve wanted to use a sword or something in the past I’d have to edit the crap out of it to make it work with normal poses I had in my inventory so these just are fantastic. I’m planning on using them in two different themed photos and here’s the first set, inspired by a mix of fighting game characters. :D
I should also mention that Sai is offering an excellent AO completely free in her shop right now. I remember when I first started SL that finding a decent AO was really difficult and the ones that were free were, uh, shall we say not exactly understated. So this is really cool of her to offer this. :)

Sometimes the weirdest things give me inspiration. I had to deal with a bi… er… let’s just call her a less than savory individual yesterday and it really got my blood boiling. But I’ll spare you the diatribe related to this particular conversation. The weird part came from the fact that I’d put on Wolf Parade’s “Wits or a Dagger” to listen to (on repeat) right before this happened and because the conversation went ON AND FREAKING ON, I wasn’t able to get over to stop the song from repeating itself over and over so the whole while I was reading this individual’s “issues” I kept hearing the same song. I took the song quite literally after a while. I couldn’t find a labyrinth that I liked so I made one. And, as per usual, picture intensive… and looks better large.
