Here are a few more screenshots from the Beta. And I have one thing to say… roll a Death Knight. Srsly, roll a Death Knight. If nothing else, roll one just to do the start quests, they are so amazing. I’m not much into the RP thing but those quests really suck you into the world, it’s unbelievable. Just when I was about to say eff it and forget about going to the hair fair forever, I finally got into the sim. Overall, it wasn’t terrible.. yeah, I saw your typical blinged out gray blobs but maybe because I was wearing untextured everything I pretty much zipped around unhindered… the lag actually wasn’t too bad since I was flying around.. but stuff did take forever and a day to load. So anyways… the Ioehinyd Queen Hair from Curious Kitties was the biggest reason I braved the fair. As soon as I saw it, a lemming was born and yes, it was totally worth going just for it alone.
I think Succubus was kinda my theme for these pictures… and yeah, I lifted from my Wits or a Dagger thing from a while back, it’s the same skin I used there too. Ah well, not everything can be fresh and new. :P The last picture at the bottom is an unfiltered version so you can actually see the hair clearly. :)

In the Swords v2 post I did a bit back I used the White Dra Goth outfit from Mamesando that I picked up from the Winter Creator’s Stamp Rally. Well I couldn’t resist grabbing the Black Dra Goth version that Mamesando was offering up as a gift for the Summer CSR. The entire outfit from the hair, skin, shape, eyes, etc are all included and I used it all. This version comes with a really amazing scripted sword with fantastic animations. Obviously pictures can’t do it justice so I attempted a little video to show it off. I’ve never used Sony Vegas before to edit a video so you’ll have to excuse the cheesetasticness and icky quality of it. I still am not sure how to save it as an .avi file without the size being too large for Flickr to allow so I had to save it as a .wmv which made it kinda choppy. But all that said, yay for Fraps finally working again for me! No more 4 FPS nonsense, woot!

I decided to take on the Ruth challenge today. I actually just used the stuff I was already dressed up in and then tried on skins until I decided on one that suited her pretty well. My only complaint about good ol’ Ruth is that she has huge man hands. I ended up taking off the hand attachments for the top I was wearing because of a mini rant about No Copy items in another post. I think Ruth turned out pretty smokin’ if you ask me. She just needed a little love and accessories. :D And I think everything suited her quite well, especially the hair.

SL
1. My friends list is very, very small.
2. I spend a good majority of my time in SL out of the game… sometimes I just log in so I can listen to the music stream I set on my land. I know I can listen to it on my computer but for some reason it’s more fun to listen to it through SL. I’m pretty much perpetually afk.
3. I have a serious hair addiction.
4. I haven’t tried to cultivate a look or a persona in SL, I pretty much just wear/look like whatever I felt like that day.
5. I am as shy in SL as I am in RL.

1. My hair is currently dark pink.
2. I love vintage clothes and hats but am freaked out by vintage shoes.
3. I’m a card carrying member of a fan club.
4. I have two small and very spoiled dogs.

Not much to say today… I’ve been having trouble staying connected in SL which is weird and annoying. But I had just enough time to snap a few pictures in the lovely skybox AlterEgoTrip Svenska sent me! I threw a few poseballs around the awesome fountain and then set my sky settings to sunset and it’s my new favorite spot to lounge. ^^

Both sets of sword pictures were inspired by the game Soul Calibur.. specifically, the last set was inspired by Xianghua and this set by Amy. My takes weren’t very literal because it’s hard finding similar outfits in SL so I made my own customized fighting game character in the same general vein of my inspiration pics. This outfit was Mamesando’s gift from last year’s Creator’s Stamp Rally so I’m not sure if it’s even available anymore, but they will be offering it in black for the Summer CSR! This event is so much fun, I highly recommend it if you’ve got Lindens to burn because the gifts available are really awesome.

I have been so excited for Sai Pennell‘s Katana poses ever since she first mentioned them and they are awesome!!! <333 I really love these, I keep making excuses to wear my swords everywhere so I can strike a pose when the mood hits me. Whenever I’ve wanted to use a sword or something in the past I’d have to edit the crap out of it to make it work with normal poses I had in my inventory so these just are fantastic. I’m planning on using them in two different themed photos and here’s the first set, inspired by a mix of fighting game characters. :D
I should also mention that Sai is offering an excellent AO completely free in her shop right now. I remember when I first started SL that finding a decent AO was really difficult and the ones that were free were, uh, shall we say not exactly understated. So this is really cool of her to offer this. :)

It’s been hard for me to get back into the swing of things since the concert for some reason… I guess it was the build up and now I’m just kinda trying to settle down again. I feel like a kid whose summer is over and I have to go back to school. :S
Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose is just awesome. Her new set of poses “Spice” absolutely ooze coolness and they are just really badass to say the least. I’m really drawn to the effortless look of these poses… and I really love the body angles in this particular set. I’m very fond of poses that have attitude to them because avatars are really just blank slates. And I should also mention that Dove gives you what really amounts to two sets of poses here, one in a low priority so they work great in an AO and one with high priority which is perfect for picture takin’. That is just awesome of her to offer that. She rocks. <3
I’m one of those people that lusts after something for a very long time before I finally give in and buy them… today that was headphones from booN. These headphones are really little works of art and I would like a pair irl. Honestly, when are SL designers going to start making me stuff rl! :P And well, I have a thing for belts so I had to grab one while I was there as well. It was a bit of a struggle to tweak the fit and it’s still a little weird but it was worth it because it’s so cute. I have a love/hate relationship with belts… They really make any outfit with jeans imo but argh, I hate fussing with them to fit properly and the more awesome and intricate they are the more difficult fitting them becomes because you can’t just edit the belt part without moving every individual prim associated with it. But yeah, I keep buying them and editing them for hours. XD
I doubt I’ll ever release this skin… I just wanted to document, in skin form, the makeup I wore to the concert. :)
