Freak

I’m “weird” and “a freak”. As if I needed to be reminded why I don’t leave my skybox, I ventured out today and I wish I hadn’t. I got picked on by a couple of uh.. “ladies” who apparently thought I was camming in on their “gOoDz” which is really quite verboten it would seem. So they called me a freak and told me I was weird. And I told them I’d rather look weird than look like a cheap hooker and then TP’d the hell out. I hate people. I also really effing hate that “feature” that lets people see where you are camming because clearly it’s not very precise because I never even saw the skanks before they approached me, let alone cammed in on them on purpose. *shudder*

Anyways, here’s my look of the day… gray, like my mood has been the past few days… I even made a super pale version of my goth skin tone to really nail down that noir look.

I love the concept of 50L Fridays and immensely enjoy it as a consumer. It’s great to both support a vendor as well as get a bargain priced item at the same time. I have to admit, I’d kill to participate as a vendor but my stuff would be a steaming pile of crap next to the awesomeness that is put out by others each week… ah well, at least I get to enjoy buying stuff instead of slaving to make stuff lol. Two of my faves this week were the tattoos from Silent Sparrow and the unisex jeans from Fishy Strawberry. I failed at screenshots and didn’t do justice to the beautiful tattoos from Silent Sparrow, but trust me, they are stunning, go get them.. you have until midnight SLT tonight!

Aion

Or another time sink for me! If you’ve seen my Flickr feed lately it was inundated with screenshots from the Aion open beta. Sorry! I went a little screenshot happy. After seeing Sai Pennell’s amazing screens, I decided to give the game a shot and I’m glad I did because I found it to be immensely enjoyable. While it isn’t necessarily ground breaking in the MMO world, it’s fun and it has amazing graphics and that’s good enough for me. I really can’t say enough how awesome the graphics are, the game is just visually stunning. Also the characters are incredibly detailed and there is a really large amount of ways you can customize your character. In this game the characters are all basically the same base race of Humans so you’d think everyone would look the same, but not so, with the customization nearly all the toons are very unique. From hair color to height, just about every facet of your character’s appearance are customizable. And of course, that won me over immediately because I’m a sucker for a pretty character. I actually quit playing Warhammer fairly soon because of the hideous characters. They lacked detail and were just plain fug. The game was a tad bit boring as well and not having well designed characters was the nail in the coffin for me. Next to the character selection screen the other stand out of Aion was the ability to change channels within your own server. I’m anti-social and a bit of a hermit so I like to solo and explore and adventure on my own quite a bit and being able to swap to a less populated channel is amazing. Especially when doing obnoxious gathering quests and the like. This was a huge selling point for me. Besides these two things, Aion is your typical fantasy MMO fodder and if you’ve played and enjoyed WoW or Warhammer or just about anything else, you’ll likely find something to enjoy here as well. If you decide to play, let me know, as of right now I’m rolling Asmodian on Triniel and Elyos on Lumiel and likely on Zikel, assuming they don’t shut that server down again. I’d love to see some more SL faces roaming about the Aion landscape. :D

I spent most of the long weekend playing WoW. I’ve been grinding away for a while trying to get The Loremaster achievement and after some massive questing, it’s mine! Thanks to awesome guildies who came through in a pinch to help me finish out some group quests I just couldn’t solo. Yay for friends! But all the questing has taken it’s toll, I’m seriously WoWed out. So I took a break last night and did a little shopping and picked up this stunning new ensemble from Silent Sparrow. I agonized over the color choice.. but in the end, purple won out! One of the things that really stood out for me is the slightly worn and dusty edges to the skirt, such a neat little detail. Yeah, my picture is kinda dorky, blame it on my being up all night and not exactly super lucid.

All’s Quiet

Today was my first day alone in two weeks, I even sent my husband out to go play with friends so I could have some “me” time. It felt nice, quiet and just the teeniest bit lonely. Unfortunately the reasons behind my full house weren’t exactly happy ones but despite that, it was nice seeing my fam again but I think we all were quite happy to get back to our regularly scheduled programs. I’m hoping I’ll be able to jump back into SL a bit more now that home life has settled down a bit. :D

My store is pretty much done now.. it’s been done for a few days but I just am not ready to reopen yet. I don’t know exactly what it is, I’m just not feeling it. Maybe tomorrow. I’ve pretty much found anything else to do besides fuss with this stupid store. I just fail so hard at building, textures, etc that it was not a rewarding process. I feel like the store doesn’t have much of my personality infused into it at all. It just turned out so freakin’ generic that I’m a little bleh about the whole thing. I’ve got some heavy stuff going on irl and effing around with frustrating crap like SL just isn’t what I want to do in my free time.. I’d rather zone out and play WoW or anything else. Oh well, that’s good enough for now I guess. I think it would take a move to a real sim (someone else’s real sim) instead of mainland where I could have my store on the ground before I could make a go of a new build. Seriously, what is up with mainland looking like such crap? Why is it always littered with a zillion pieces of crap as far as the eye can see?

It’s not much of a surprise that I spent more time riding around on the WonderCycle than actually messing with my store. I also built my husband’s avatar into a wall when he got up to go get pizza. >.>

So blaaahh.

*Caution, emo post ahoy*

I’m still around…. I just haven’t really been in the mood for SL. Lately I’ve been plagued by a huge amount of self doubt about what I’m trying to do in SL and it’s really keeping me from logging in on a more regular basis. It seems like I keep making heaps of new stuff that I love initially but then doubt creeps in and I end up filing it away forever more. I have a serious fear of failure and honestly, most everything I’ve done lately seems to be made of fail so it’s become easier to just forget about whatever I’ve made instead of going to the trouble of trying to sell it and watching it tank. For months now I’ve been wanting to replace all my old shit with new and better stuff but as much as I loathe even having that stuff there anymore I can’t bring myself to remove it because those cheap things are the only things I seem to sell, much to my dismay. It’s sad and depressing and it is making me really emo and whiny. I’m also very tired as I have stayed up way too late the past few nights and it’s making me cranky.

So I made a hot pink dress and bought new hair and shoes to make myself feel better. It worked a little bit. Until some random person, out of the blue, dropped a skin demo on me without so much as a hello while I was out shopping. At first I thought, wow, wtf… but at the same time I was rather amazed at their unabashed self promotion and I kinda wish I had the cajones to approach total strangers and pimp my wares like that. I never would though… ’cause it was kinda tacky and I never demo with strangers.

Another entry into my Winged/Wicked things category…. I’ve played with a great many looks in SL but the one I find myself consistently gravitating towards more and more these days is the demon look. I like representing a darker shade of myself in SL and what can I say, I really like horns. And Ruina’s foray into horns has made me all giddy! ^^;

I finally got a chance to hit the hair fair and one of my favorite styles I picked up was Alethia from SLink. Once I stumbled through the directions on how to choose a color for my new hair I was good to go. I’m not especially good with instructions and I really just revert into a toddler whenever I have to read them.. but I managed even though I never was able to actually drop it on the ground, so I partly blame SL for screwing with me. But on the whole, I really like the idea SLink has put into play with their hair, you get to choose the combo of 1, 3 or 5 haircolors and pick your own pack which I really appreciate.

And I think I’m finally getting on the mend from my cold/flu/grossness… I still am tired beyond all get out, but for the most part I’m over the worst of it, I hope anyways!

VSM Quick!

Last week I had one of the most amazing days of my life… I got to see Sunset Rubdown live and I’m still all warm and glowy from it… even though about two and half seconds after I got home from said day I became sick with who knows what manner of flu/cold/grossness. At any rate, those two things combined have been the reason behind my absence but I’m tentatively back. I’m not feeling 100% yet but I’m getting there. Anyone know a home remedy for clearing up a stuffy ear? I’ve been trying decongestants but at the moment they aren’t doing anything and this is the most annoying feeling.

All that aside, I did have a reason behind this blog and it was to give a last minute notice that the Vendor Support Month event ends tonight so if there was anything you absolutely wanted from it, best go now! Here were two of my favorites, the piercing from Ommik and the necklace from Otaku. BBBC – Wrap Up Post

Did you find this year to be harder or easier than last year? Did you enjoy yourself? Do you think you’d do it again?

I love the challenge because it’s just that, a challenge. I don’t normally blog everyday unless something huge is up so it really takes a lot to sit down and find the time to do some blogging, even if the topic has already been laid out for me. As to whether it was easier or not this year, it was actually a little bit harder but not really for any particular reason other than I was busier than normal this week so it was some work trying to fit in the time to blog. Will I do it again? Absolutely!
