Mini Challenge Wednesday

Here’s Alicia’s challenge for Wednesday:
** In SL, we’re often afraid of looking silly. I’ve noticed this more with bloggers than with anyone else. Why have you made your avatar look the way it does? What does it mean to you? Do you think people respond to you differently if you’re attractive? Today, put on something just totally crazy. It can be a funny avatar, a crazy outfit, weird hair, or just some bling-blangin’ jewelry. Go out in public, see if anyone has anything to say about it. See if you think of yourself differently if your avatar isn’t perfect looking. Don’t forget to take a picture of your outfit!! **

Well, I have to admit, I’ve never been too concerned with people thinking I look stupid, weird, etc. In fact, I’d venture to say I try to look different because it’s very easy to get swallowed up in the sea of sameness, especially in a game like SL, where there’s a tendency to flock to the same goodies… I see things on the feed and I get instant lemming attacks. That’s actually what got me modding Eloh’s skins in the first place… I really wanted to personalize myself. I’ve never really had anyone insult me on my look to my face.. most people ignore me honestly. Maybe my look scares people away? I don’t know. So anyways, I put on a tiny outfit today for a change and nobody said a word.. granted I wasn’t out very long but that seems to be the typical response I get, none at all. I should add that since I typically rock a different look every time I log into SL, I didn’t feel any differently running around in a kyoot little bear outfit than I would in some fashionista getup. Okay, I did feel pretty dang precious. :D

Btw, this avatar was free but I picked up a very long time ago so I don’t know if it is still free or not. And it skates, which is adorable.

I did this one most of the time ;) this challange is like what I do to my AV on the basis of when ever I get on line! I put on a cyber arm in Kowloon, my fave sim.. but I didn’t write anything about how I liked the sim.. or how silly I am there.. or the various shape changes I go on about doing there since I got most of my tiny stuff there– there is a cute cooking pot avatar and a bowl man one that is sooooo crazy..and really low priced too. Not just the various pandas.

With what you do the way you do it.. I don’t think anyone understands what they are looking at.. you see you present your AV as rather tough but a precious individual beauty.. as real life can only provide, no not one of the pack! Thats why only individualistic people (we are so rare here arn’t we?) are drawn to your creations and the way your present them.. but you are an elite rather than the herd.. you do what they WISH they could do, and you seem to be yourself while you do it :) And with Tiny AVs there seems to be groups that clump together who really like that aspect of SL.. as a whole they are a rather playful sort, around my old Newbie house there were a few who were really cool, I should go catch up with them but we spent most of the time showing off the cool stuff we had..but it felt really playful.

I also joined the SL “we love budgies” and I can’t help but confess I feel really playful when my Av is an albino budgie..It works best with gestures like “don’t make me destroy you” when you are fighting a human avatar with a pillow.
